Within its 20,000 square miles, Costa Rica boasts 5% of the biodiversity of the world and the government is committed to preserving its natural resources. Costa Rica’s tropical climate is ideal with sunrises around 6:00 am and sunsets around 6:00 pm year round.

 

As impressive as the drama of the vegetation and the fury of the volcanoes, is Costa Rica’s peaceful society, where democracy and freedom of expression reign. The country is one of the oldest democracies in the Americas, and is a free and independent republic. Its habitants enjoy full political stability with a long-standing commitment to democratic freedom. Peace is Costa Rica's most valued feature. The country has had no army since it was abolished in the mid-20th century.
